How we choose what to cover
We start with what travelers actually ask before a trip: is this a good month to go, what will it cost, how crowded will it be and how do I get there. We favor topics where timing changes the answer, and we write for readers planning a trip from the United States.
Where our information comes from
We rely on primary and official sources wherever we can and link to them at the end of a story. Typical sources include:
- Official tourism boards, national and state park services, and the places themselves for hours, seasons and fees.
- Airlines, airports and transit operators for routes and schedules.
- The U.S. Department of State for passports, visas and travel advisories, and the CDC for travel health information.
- National weather services and long-term climate records for typical temperatures and rainfall.
- Recent reporting from established news outlets when something has changed.
Prices are given with the date or season they apply to, because they move. When sources disagree, we say so and explain which one we used.
How a story is checked
Every story is reviewed by a second editor before it is published. Numbers, dates, months and names are checked against the source they came from. If we can’t confirm a detail, it doesn’t go in.
Keeping stories current
Seasons repeat, but prices, schedules and rules don’t stay the same. We revisit stories when something changes and show a “Refreshed” date at the top when a story has been updated after publishing.
Corrections
If you spot a mistake, write to [email protected]. We fix errors as soon as we can confirm them, and we note significant corrections in the story.
Independence
No company pays for a story on Travel Woom, and no company sees a story before it is published. If we ever publish sponsored content or use affiliate links, it will be clearly labeled and explained on this site.
General information, not advice
Our guides help you plan, but they can’t replace checking the details with the official source before you book. Read Before You Book for what to confirm.
