Who we are
Travel Woom (travelwoom.com) is a travel blog run by the Travel Woom editorial team. Questions about this notice go to [email protected].
What we collect
Server logs
Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when a page is requested: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, and are kept only as long as needed for that.
Emails you send us
If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and your message. We use them only to reply and, for corrections or tips, to improve a story. We don’t add you to any mailing list.
What we don’t collect
We don’t run advertising, analytics cookies, a newsletter or reader accounts, and comments are turned off. If that changes, we will update this notice before it does.
Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to see how Travel Woom appears in Google Search, for example which searches lead to our pages and how often they are clicked. This is summary data from Google’s own search results. Search Console doesn’t add cookies or tracking code to our pages. Google’s handling of search data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Cookies and browser storage
This site doesn’t set cookies for visitors. WordPress sets technical cookies only for editors who log in. To count story visits for our “Most read” list without counting the same visit twice, your browser keeps a small note in its local storage that contains the story number and the date, nothing about you. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Our fonts are served from our own server, so reading Travel Woom doesn’t send requests to font services.
Content from other websites
Some stories may include embedded content such as videos or maps. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other website, which may collect data about you under its own privacy policy. Links to other sites are covered by their own policies too.
We don’t sell or share personal information
We don’t sell personal information and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA. We share information only with the service providers who run the site for us, such as our host, and only for that purpose, or when the law requires it.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Because we don’t sell or share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of today. If that ever changes, we will add a way to opt out and will honor Global Privacy Control signals from your browser.
Your privacy rights
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to delete or correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. Residents of several other states, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and Oregon, have similar rights under their own laws.
To make a request, email [email protected]. We may ask for information to confirm the request is yours, and we will respond within the time the law allows. You can also make a request through an authorized agent.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. We don’t track visitors across other websites, so our site works the same with or without it.
Children
Travel Woom is written for adults and isn’t directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
How long we keep information
We keep emails only as long as needed to answer them and follow up, and server logs only as long as our host needs them for security and operation.
Security
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to our email and website accounts is limited to the editorial team. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you send us.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle information, for example by adding analytics or advertising, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
